Kate McCready is currently the Interim Associate University Librarian for Collections & Content Strategy. Kate is responsible for the goals and work of the C&CS service area and provides leadership in the development, discovery, and long term stewardship of the University of Minnesota Libraries’ wide-ranging collections which include over 7.7 million print volumes, and millions of electronic resources that address all current and emerging areas of study at the University. Kate oversees the acquisition, borrowing, licensing, description, and discovery of content. Her responsibilities also include leadership and oversight of the library enterprise systems that support the metadata, fulfillment, and discovery of our robust resources for both the Twin Cities campus and the system campus libraries. Kate is responsible for the services that provide digitization, management, and preservation of the Libraries’ physical collections as well as the services provided to campus content creators on intellectual property rights and copyright information while advocating for sustainable models for scholarly communication and information sharing.
