Caroline Herbert is a Director of Research Media; a specialist communications agency with a focus on the research and academic sector.
Research Media was set up in response to a real need from researchers and research-focused organisations for support in creating and disseminating outcomes, updates and impacts to the broadest possible audience. Research Media is a Cordis listed project dissemination partner and Strategic Media Partner of the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA).
Caroline joined Research Media with over 20 years of media publishing experience having worked for VNU Publications, Hearst Media, BBC Magazines and Immediate Media.
Passionate about media, she is particularly knowledgeable about the print, digital and social media market place and is well versed in creating effective campaigns to raise awareness and drive engagement. She has worked with high profile companies, including L'Oreal, Unilever, Peugeot, Procter & Gamble, GSK and Coca Cola in the past.
Caroline graduated from Kent University in 1993 with a BA (Hons) degree in History and joined VNU Business Publications where she worked on Personal Computer Magazine, a business-to-business computing magazine. She left in 1995 to join Money Marketing, the UK's leading source of news, analysis and insight for financial advisors and the financial services industry. Leaving in 1996, she joined The National Magazine Company (now Hearst) where she stayed for over 10 years rising quickly through the ranks and working on established brands such as Cosmopolitan. On relocating to Bristol, she accepted a Board position at Origin Publishing/BBC Magazines (now Immediate Media). Joining Research Media in 2014, Caroline is passionate about communication and working with the research sector to create the greatest impact and awareness to the widest audiences.
